The founding associations of BEST ECONOMY forum (non-profit limited company) have joined forces to work together for the sustainable transformation of the economy. Together, they already represent approximately 20,000 private individuals and 10,000 companies. By a sustainable economy, the founders understand an economy that brings our environment, society, business and culture into harmony. With the foundation of BEST ECONOMY gGmbH, the four associations want to create a framework to establish a sustainable alternative to the World Economic Forum.

The BEST ECONOMY forum shows what successful entrepreneurship means today, and what force for change emanates from sustainable business practices. The aim is to break new ground together and take other entrepreneurs into a future that is worth living. For us, our children and our grandchildren. Today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

BIO HOTELS

The association BIO HOTELS has been developing holistic solutions for 20 years: We work with foods from certified organic agriculture, with natural materials and in networks that help to develop more common good in our regions. Today, with around 90 hotels, we are the largest and only association of ecological hotels with certified organic guarantees.

This enables us to actively live up to our high standards and also to guarantee them. A sustainable way of life is what unites our members. Our guests enjoy organic foods, certified natural cosmetics and relaxing in hotels with resource management.

Moreover, BIO HOTELS offer more than just hotels. Our hoteliers stand for mindfulness and new visions of sustainable business. Our hotels can be found in 6 European countries

Bioland e.V.

Bioland is the leading association for organic farming in Germany and South Tyrol. About 7300 farmers, gardeners, beekeepers and winegrowers produce according to the Bioland standards. In addition, more than 1000 processors such as bakeries, dairies, butchers, restaurants and traders are also Bioland partners. Together they share common values that benefit people and environment.

For over 45 years Bioland members have developed an ecologically, economically and socially sound alternative to the intensive conventional farming system that depends on industry and outside investors. Organic farming means taking responsibility for the future. The Seven Bioland Principles for Agriculture in the Future form important cornerstones of this aim.

Bioland is a registered association (in German “eingetragener Verein”) and is a democratic grass roots organisation founded 1971. In representing the interest of its members and partners Bioland promotes societal values and is engaged in the next steps for the way forward towards a sustainable future.

Economy for the Common Good

The International Association for the Promotion of the Common Good Economy e.V. in Hamburg supports the international movement and the dissemination of the idea of ​​the Common Good economy. The Economy for the Common Good is …

… economically, a viable, concrete and workable alternative for companies of different sizes and legal structures. The purpose of an organisation and the evaluation of its success are determined according to values that serve the common good.

… politically, an engine for legal change. The objective of engagement is a good life for all living beings and for the planet, underpinned by an economic system that serves the common good. Human dignity, solidarity, ecological sustainability, social justice and democratic participation are all essential values.

… socially, an initiative to raise awareness for changing the system, based on the collective and respectful actions of as many people as possible. The movement gives hope and courage, and seeks mutual networking with other initiatives. It is an open-minded, participatory and locally growing process with a global outlook, symbolized by the dandelion seeds of the logo. FIBL – Research Institute for Organic Agriculture

With locations situated in Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland, FIBL is one of the world’s leading research institutions for organic farming. Solution-oriented development projects, rapid knowledge transfer from research to practice, and interdisciplinary research are just some of the strengths of the FIBL.
The competence set ranges from species-appropriate animal husbandry and holistic animal health to soil management and crop production through to comprehensive analyzes of the organic market. In addition to practice-relevant research, the provision of specialist information (e.g. studies, fact sheets and specialist books) is particularly important.
The development of sustainable agriculture in Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe is supported in cooperation with local partner organizations. Local and organic cultivation systems are examined with the aid of long-term experiments. In addition, FIBL offers expertise in the field of market development.
