What do you expect from the BEST ECONOMY forum 2021? I expect encounters (even if only possible online!), impulses, inspiration and exchange. I look forward to showing the possible role of the “politician” in the interaction between society, needs, consumption, and the economy. I would like to encourage people by sharing my own experiences with “doing business differently” – first in local politics in Stuttgart and now on the European stage in Brussels.
Which goals do you hope for your company / organization locally, nationally and globally in 2 years? I would like the “EU Green Deal” to actually help initiate a change in thinking at European level. I hope that my project “Local Green Deals / Regions for the Common Good” will support local companies, municipalities and networks and thus be able to completely redefine “added value” on site. Great pioneering regions of change could emerge through such ethical accounting.
Which goals do you hope for your company / organization locally, nationally and globally in 5 years? I hope that I can help during the next legislative period to FINALLY get a completely new, ecological EU agricultural policy off the ground. This could result in completely different visions for rural areas. Public money should be available for public services and so I imagine a lively dialogue with farmers, companies and fellow human beings. Together, we can define values, “common good criteria” and redefine community.
Which goals do you hope for your company / organization locally, nationally and globally in 10 years? Companies are given tax and social preferential treatment if they are geared towards the common good. As a result, local, climate-neutral and ethical products are becoming increasingly cheaper for end consumers. I hope that “regions of transformation” will slowly become visible in the EU. I imagine a Europe of conscious regions that sets out on a creative path to redefine mobility, energy, consumption and local currency and to produce and enjoy good food in harmony with people, nature and animals.
